Confined Space Technician

On Wednesday 06/28/2023, members of Blandon Fire Company joined with members from Reading Fire Department, Allentown Fire Department, Bethlehem Fire Department, Arlington County Fire Department, and Bucks County Special Operations to complete a 32 hour NFPA 1006 Confined Space Rescue Technician course. This program is designed to enhance the rescuers ability to perform critical skill sets in the field of technical rescue for confined space rescue. During this course, rescuers reviewed technical rescue theories, techniques, and challenges to accurately and safely execute the skill sets required for professional certification. Topics included; scene management, mechanical advantage systems, rope management, anchor systems, rescue knots, size-up considerations, hazard control, permit & non-permit required confined space areas, OSHA and NFPA applicable standards and laws as well as patient care. This course is designed for the experienced rescuer with a strong working knowledge of technical rescue in accordance with NFPA 1006 Chapter 7 Confined Space Awareness, Operations and Technician and 1670. #blandonfire
