Trash Fire

On Monday 01/30/2023 at 0302, Engine’s 12 & 66 were dispatched to Andrew Maier Elementary School for a reported trash truck on fire. Engine 12 responded and arrived on scene to find a moderate pile of recyclable materials on fire in the parking lot. Engine 12’s crew initiated fire suppression upon arrival and quickly brought the fire under control. No fire was found within the recycling truck as the operator noticed a fire in the compartment, and dumped the load in the parking lot away from any exposures prior to our arrival. Engine 12’s crew remined on scene to assist with overhaul and debris removal. #blandonfire
