Mountain Fire

On Saturday 11/09/2024 around 0030hrs, Brush and Engine Tanker 12 were dispatched to Neversink Mountain in the City of Reading assisting Reading Fire Department on a working brush fire. Brush and Engine Tanker 12 arrived on scene and were immediately integrated into the suppression branch under a unified command structure on the eastern flank. Personnel faced numerous challenging conditions including mountainous terrain, gusty winds, extreme drought/red flag conditions, and inadequate water supply.  Blandon Fire Brush personnel would operate on scene for approximately 14 hours assisting Reading Fire Department, Berks Emergency Strike Team, and PA-DCNR with the 150 acre plus brush fire prior to being released for personnel replenishment. #blandonfire
