MANY WAYS TO VOLUNTEER
Ages 18 and older. Firefighters will obtain state certified training to meet Blandon Fire Company training requirements. Upon completion of the required training, firefighters will function as integral members on fire, accident, and disaster scenes. Firefighters also train to become emergency vehicle driver/operators as well as continue with training in specialized firefighting and rescue fields.
Ages 14-17. Middle school and high school students from the area can volunteer after obtaining a work permit from their respective school district as rrequired by state law. Junior Firefighters will obtain required training courses via several outlets which include local fire schools, fire department training programs, and some courses are even available online.
Ages 18 and older. Volunteers are required to become a member of the Blandon Fire Company. Fire Police are approved by the Township Commissioners and are sworn in by the local magistrate. Fire Police duties include public safety as well as crowd and traffic control at both emergency scenes and community events.
FIRE CORPS SUPPORT PERSONNEL:
Ages 18 and older. Volunteers provide non-emergency duties by assisting with fundraising, fire safety education, maintenance, pastoral assistance, board of directors/executive officers, accounting, web development, and recruitment.
